There really are a few must haves that you need to have in your bag for college life. This post will educate you on the essentials that will help make starting college that bit easier.

Body Spray
This can be crucial, especially in summer, as college days can be quite long so you may need to freshen up. Warm days sat in a classroom can be hard, so you need to make sure you stay smelling sweet as a daisy. Personally, I like to use 'Impulse' as their perfumes come in plastic spray bottles that has the smaller chance of leaking or breaking.
Stationary
This is obviously one of the most important essentials. I would recommend having a range of stationary in your bag. This could be;
Highlighters
Felt-tip pens
Sharp pencils
Ruler
Biro
Glue stick (This is very important)
Folder
Lined paper inserts for your folder
Don't feel that you need to buy expensive stationary as everyone will have a range of stationary with them and you can get really good deals on online places like Amazon or Ebay. You can watch my Youtube video on Revision Tips where I discuss highlighters and felt tip pens. I have links in the description of where to buy them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mGQfhC-4PoI&t=31s . I also have a video that shows folders and file dividers that I have purchased and they are brilliant. Check out that video here: https://youtu.be/PCZ-LGDA3iE
Lip Balm, Mascara and travel sized makeup wipes
These are crucial when it comes to feeling prepared and refreshed all day. Re-applying makeup can really benefit when you have a long day at college. Also, during school times the weather can always change so make sure that you have lip balm that includes SPF of some sort. This can then help when it comes to really hot and sunny days but also it will moisturise your lips if its cold and they become sore and dry. Also make sure you have some small makeup remover wipes so that when your makeup starts to run due to sweat or rain then you can make sure you can clear that up. Just make sure to get a small pack as you don't want it to take up too much room.

Charger
Now that phones are allowed to be used more within college then you will find that it will die more than you are used to, so bring your charger! You will need to use your phone to not only message friends and go on social media but also to complete tasks like research and Kahoot.
Headphones
I think this is an obvious must have for everyone even through secondary school. This is crucial for bus rides and study lessons as for me my bus trip takes a while so without a pair of headphones I would not survive! They are crucial when it comes to individual time where you have to do independent study.
Small Hairbrush
With this I would recommend a small tangle teezer as it is small and work well enough to brush out your hair. You can get ones off of Amazon and Ebay that are fairly cheap. This is crucial as yet again the weather can really change and you might have to go out to get lunch. This may lead a hair disaster and the hairbrush would be very beneficial when it comes to fixing it.
Folder
Your college may recommend notebooks, mine did, but I would highly recommend writing in a folder notebook and transferring those pages into a folder as they can hold a lot more notes and you can use polly pockets to hold any printed off work so you know it is all together. This is the one I would recommend the most as I found it so helpful when it came to revising. Further, this is because you have dividers so it is easy to find everything but also because you have everything together including worksheets and past papers.
Notebook
If you get given a locker I would recommend putting a notebook in there, or at least a small one in your bag. This is because we all have days where we
are forgetful and you will want a backup option to when you leave your folder or other notebook at home. I have left my folder at home countless times now and having a notebook in my locker has been a lifesaver.
I hope this has helped make you feel more confident when it comes to joining college and you feel you can go in confidently an happily.
Many thanks,
Jessica-Jayne.
