I am a big sucker for a good movie night in with a big mug of hot chocolate and TONNES of snacks and as we get closer and closer to the autumnal season this will be a recurring task for my boyfriend and I. So, I have put together a list of my favourite films for this season. In October, I will do one for Halloween and then one in December for Christmas films as this is my favourite time of the year. So, get snuggled up and note down my top 15 films!
1.Parent Trap
As I write this I am watching this film. It is the cutest film ever. It just makes my heart warm. It's one of those films where you can curl up with lotus spread and a spoon in bed and feel the most relaxed ever. It's just one of those classics that you can watch over and over again. It's my favourite to start watching just before autumn properly sets in. This is because I get too excited too early.
2. The Rise Of The Guardians
I have loved watching this film since it came out. I like to watch this one when it starts to get a bit colder and darker earlier as it is such a family friendly and heartwarming feel. I am such a fan of animated films especially Disney, Pixar and Dreamworks. My parents took my sister and I to see it on Christmas eve. So now it has a warm place in my heart.
3. Hotel Transylvania
This is a film is another one that is just easy to watch and is just adorable and fun! This is a film that is good to watch with the family or friends, when it is coming up to halloween with lots of snacks!
4.How To Train A Dragon
This film is definitely a family favourite.We would search for a film to watch for what felt like forever. This one is always a good one to put on if we were ever in that situation. You got to love the relationships that are developed within this film, and toothless' cute little face.
5. Avengers Assemble
You cannot go wrong with any Marvel movie! They are a go to movie set for me. I chose this specific one because I used to watch it on holiday before bed and it just makes me feel so happy and excited for the next day no matter what I am doing. It's just one of those films that will never be boring.
6.Clueless
This is more of a girls night in film. It's a super cute film that makes me just want to live in the 1990's. Their outfits are so cute. It is the kind of romance film that I just need to watch sometimes.
7.Dirty Dancing
If I could watch this forever I would. I love dance and I enjoy learning dance as well. So watching them dance in the 1960's and all their outfits is my favourite. Some of the scenes makes me so happy. It mixes so many topics that are so interesting and not shown often. It is a masterpiece.
8.10 Things I hate About You.
This film I have only watched for the first time fully recently. I know right?!? I should've watched it early because it is the cutest film. It has the sweetest storyline that creates that typical romance film scenes, where they hate each other at first and then slowly begin to fall in love. It is such a nice film to watch on a night in by yourself or with a group of friends. This is the perfect film for a sleepover with the girls!
9.Zootropolis
Okay. Can we just take a moment to appreciate this film...It is AMAZING. It really brings out the child in me. I love nearly all animation films and this is one of my faves. It has so many cute factors to it and beautiful hidden meanings. It's such a fun concept and contributes a fun evening. This film teaches children that if someone tells you, you can't be something. Prove them wrong! That is exactly what Judy Hopps did when she was told she couldn't be a police officer. Definitely watch this beautiful film.
10. Goosebumps
This film is so creative. It has such a cool concept and it constantly has my full attention as the film progresses. It has the amazing actor Jack Black in the film so you know it is going to be a fun and interesting film. The casting is amazing and the film itself is very good. Definitely worth the watch.
11.Click
This film I had never really heard of this film until my boyfriend and I scrolled onto it on Netflix a few weeks ago. It has a really interesting concept. It shows how you shouldn't take life for granted. This film is very heartwarming and clever. It definitely tugs on your heart strings.
12. Big Hero Six
Now, if you are looking for a film that will send you on a roller coaster ride of emotions. This is the film for you . You will laugh and cry at the same time. It is a fun and emotional film. Baymax is also adorable so that contributes. It definitely ticks the heartwarming film box. The animation is also very good.
13.Incredibles 2
This was definitely a film that I am glad that came out. The first one was amazing but the second one went to a whole new level of fun and funny. They (after 14 years) managed to keep the characters so similar. It didn't disappoint. It made me laugh so much. You can't not love the Edna and Jack Jack duo!
14. The Princess Diaries
This was one of my favourite films growing up, I admired Mia. I hoped for a glow up like hers (and to secretly be a princess). It has such a good story line. There are so many moments that are just adorable and add on to what it is like as a teen but then also being a princess. It is a very fun film.
15. Night Of The Museum
We have to all admit this films purpose is fun and imagination. After watching this, as a child, if I ever went to a museum I would hope it would just come to life around me. There are so many parts to this film which are so fun. It tackles so many different time periods in different countries. It is such a cool concept.
